Importance of Prayers
Recently, we heard about people missing their prayers due to the feeling of not being connected yet with Allah swt or they feel that performing their prayers during working hours is impossible.
It is a sad fact that is common to hear these days.
The purpose of Solah is to put ourselves in touch with God. Allah swt knows that as humans we tend to forget and we get distracted by worldly things easily.
One moment we could be reminded be the fear of being sent down to hellfire, the next moment we could be enjoying our time with friends after dusk and end up missing the Maghrib prayers.
The prayer also helps us to strengthen our relationship with Him, to be grateful for all his blessings, and to remind ourselves of his Greatness.
Just as the body requires physical needs such as food and water, the soul has spiritual needs. The needs of the soul are provided by acts of worship, the most important of which is prayer. It could be that the body of a person is healthy but the person is spiritually dead.
